Melissa George Turns Down Music Career
Melissa George is well known for giving great performances in such movies as The Limey (1999), Mulholland Drive (2001), The Amityville Horror (2005), Derailed (2005), Turistas (2006), Music Within(2007) Waz (2007) and 30 Days of Night (2007). From staring in soap operas like 1988's Home and Away, George has risen to become a very appreciated and renowned Australian actress.
A string of Aussie soap stars, including Jason Donovan, Kylie Minogue, Stefan Dennis, Natalie Imbruglia, Dannii Minogue, Craig McLahlan, Bec Cartwright and Holly Valance have launched pop music careers to variable degrees of success.
Melissa wanted to embark upon an acting career since childhood, but never did she think of combining this with singing. George claims she loves Kylie since forever but as for her, she can't sing and she only feels the excitement on set when they call 'action' and 'cut'.

The Amityville Horror actress claims that Cowell was actually begging her to be a music star during those times when George was very popular for her part as Angel. The British music mogul didn't care how she sounded like. Melissa cannot believe how this was possible giving the fact that the famous tv show American Idol is actually supposed to be all about talent and great singing.
