George moved to Sydney to embrace an acting career. After making a big impact in the tv soap and being awarded many logie awards for her performance, George decided that three years on the show were enough and left to pursue other projects in the US. She posed in the Aussie edition of Playboy and starred in several tv movies until she made her feature film debut in Alex Proyas' SF film Dark City with Kiefer Sutherland and Jennifer Connelly. Her next appearance in film was for Steven Soderbergh's The Limey. George also played a small but crucial role as Camilla Rhodes in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive with Naomi Watts.

Additional film credits include: Down with Love, opposite Renee Zellweger and Ewan Mcgregor, Sugar and Spice John Hughes' New Port South and Derailed co-starring Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen.

In 2003, after having a memorable performance lesbian nanny in the hit shoe Friends, George landed a prominent role, as the evil character, Lauren Reed, on the popular tv series Alias.

George is married to Chilean businessman Claudio Dabed and the couple lives in Los Angeles with Claudio's daughter from a previous marriage.

Melissa George's combination of natural talent and irresistible charm has helped her become one of the most promising actresses in Hollywood.

Melissa's film credits include Mulholland Drive, Down with Love, Dark City, The Limey and Sugar & Spice.

The former Alias star had initially joined the cast of Lipstick Jungle, NBC's American TV comedy-drama created by Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline.

NBC Universal Television is moving forward with a tv adaptation of Candace Bushnell's best-selling book.Lipstick Jungle follows three high-powered women who are in their 40s, dealing with their relationships and jobs in New York. The new dramedy is said to be the next 'Sex and the City'.

George was supposed to star as Nico O'Neilly, a highly appreciated editor of a popular magazine on Politics, fashion and celebrities. The second role - industry top executive Wendy Healy was given to actress Gina Gershon. Later on, Brooke Shields has landed the role of Wendy. Lindsay Price was cast as fashion designer Victory Ford.

The former Home and Away bombshell decided to quit the show, to join the cast of the new hbo drama In Treatment, produced by Marc Wahlberg and based on a hit Israeli series. There are rumors claiming that Melissa's departure was also due to creative differences.

The Aussie actress will remain probably best knows for her role as Lauren Reed, the evil yet sexy wife of Vaughn.

Melissa George is a stepmother, a wife, a TV soap actress, a former champion in rollerskating, and more recently an Aussie tourist being terrorized in the thriller film Turistas.

Melissa claims she got into acting because of the thrill and the family feeling of crews and telling stories with acting, shots and dialog.

Directed by John Stockwell, Turistas is a suspense thriller, centered around a group of young and pretty adventure travelers.They get stranded in an outback Brazilian beach town where they discover that the lush jungles and the sandy beaches are concealing an unsettling, dark secret. Their vacation will eventually turn to go really REALLY bad.

The beautiful actress claims that spending three months in Brazil has fully changed her life. This experience made her more reliant, tougher and she feels that she came back a better actress.

Melissa had to prepare for her part by learning how to speak Portuguese. John Stockwell who directed the thriller made her go to school and learn the language. George claims that she can speak Spanish as well.

She liked the fact that It was rough working on this film. It was rough sets, rough climates, but really realistic.

Cast of the Turistas includes: Olivia Wilde, Josh Duhamel, Desmond Askew, Max Brown and Beau Garett.

Melissa George, former Angel Brooks in soap opera Home and Away has made it big in Hollywood and managed to make her way among the most sought after actresses. Steven Sawalich's Music Within depicts how a brilliant public speaker helped change policies and attitudes toward Americans with disabilities. George plays the part of a freewheeling woman who has a relationship with Richard Pimentel, a civil rights activist.

George claims she had no problems working with the director and the rest of the cast. She also added that Steve Sawalich, Michael Sheen and Ron Livingston are great fun and they couldn't have laughed any harder on the set.

If you ask George to analyze her role a bit, she seems to be fine with the fact that it was Pimentel who had to make a political statement and that she was the funny, gentle, giggling, waisted jeans kind of character who backs away when things gets heavy.

As you probably know by now, Melissa George, who played impulsive Angel Brooks in Home and Away, has been recruited to HBO's new therapy series, In Treatment. George plays the part of Laura, an attractive young anesthesiologist who seeks the help of a therapist portrayed by Gabriel Byrne. During her treatment, Laura tells Paul how after having a fight with her boyfriend she went into a bar where she met a man. They eventually ended up together engaging in sexual intercourse. The unusual part is that Laura confessed that all that time she was with that man, she imagined being with Paul.

About the part, Melissa claims that she prefers playing a sex addict rather than a beautiful, pure, loving wife with four kids.

Melissa also affirms that even though this was a completely new world for her, she like her part so much that her reactions in the series were a mix of Melissa combined with Laura. Shooting the show made George feel like she has learned a lot about herself.

Melissa George has always wanted to be an actor. After landing her first role as Angel in the Australian tv series, Melissa decided she wants more than that and went off to Holywood to make it big.

Since then she stared in ABc's tv show Alias, had a role in the thriller film 30 Days Of Night and a female lead in the remake of The Amityville Horror.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Melissa George former star in HBO's popular series Alias, is currently negotiating for the female lead part in Christopher Smith's supernatural thriller film Triangle. Chris Brown and Jason Newmark are producing the movie set to be shot on the Gold Coast, Australia. Producers are in "discussions" with several other famous Australian actors.

Director Christopher Smith is well known for his bloody flick Severance yet this time he has promised something a little more unusual.

You are most definitely familiar already with Aussie actress Melissa George from other two thrillers The Amityville Horror and 30 Days of Night. Other worthy roles include David Lynch's Mulholland Drive and Proyas' cult fave Dark City.

The plot goes around a crew of five passengers on a yachting trip in the Atlantic Ocean. The ship sinks due to weather conditions so they are forced to look for refuge on another ship. The new vessel seems to be nothing like they imagined.

Here, things will only go from bad to worse. It already sounds very interesting yet this is only the beginning.

The former soapie star will portray one of the passengers, a woman with mental disorder problems. It seems that we are going to see three different versions of the story through the multiple personalities of Melissa's character. Mel Gibson's Icon will release the film in the UK and Oz.
